Dear Variety Friends and Family,  

These truly have been challenging days for our children, families, and communities. I want you to know that your family is important to us and we remain a resource to you. Variety will continue to remain nimble, flexible, and available to help children and families locate and receive the community services they may need. In the days ahead, if you or someone you know needs Variety’s support, please do not delay in contacting us. 

At this time, the Variety Office is open by appointment only, however we are available by email at variety@varietyofthedesert.org and messages left at 760-773-9800 are being monitored. 

Here are a few of the ways Variety is responding to COVID-19 and assisting children and their families: 

• Providing adaptive equipment to a child with special needs who would benefit from having support at their home such as an adaptive stroller or bicycle,   
• Sharing information about where food distribution is available, both through schools and in the community, 
• Offering a list of websites with educational activities for children to engage in and continue learning, and   
• Help with locating other services a family needs within our community such as obtaining needed medical equipment, therapeutic services online, and much more.  

If you or someone you know has a need for resources, such as one of the items listed above, please contact us and we will be glad to assist you in locating these services within our community. We are here to help.
